Team Dynamism

#Fashion #Lifestyle & #Travel leaving all these and a few more interesting topics, Why am I talking about Team Dynamism?
Football season has just ended, Team Croatia couldn't win the world cup but has definitely won hearts of millions.
As #trending topics get you a whatsapp forwarded messages, I received one before the world cop final, and that probably made me think about #teamDynamism and I thought of writing on this topic.

So the message goes like this :

There is no 'I' in 'TEAM'

Nikola Kalinic : He is a Croatian Footballer.
In Croatia's first group match against Nigeria he refused to play as the substitute because his ego that felt he is more important than being a substitute.

Next Day he was sent back home!

Last night his teammates reached country's first ever World Cup Final, while
Kalinic is sitting at home!

A lot of managers fail to understand, how important it is to maintain team dynamics and work environment.
In my advertising career, being Client servicing executive I have always been mentored and told by my seniors, that while briefing a creative person If you put garbage in, expect a garbage in return.

This is what happens in other areas as well, Garbage in-Garbage out!
Period!

Nikola is a great individual player, but I must say,
Finding good players is easy, Getting them to play as a team is another story.
and building that story is the primary job of any leader.

If team dynamics is maintained and team members are motivated enough, productivity is a byproduct.
Little more efforts in product understanding and product training.. and you are through.

Start your process, by 'getting together' right kind of people, 'keeping them together' is the next step and 'working together' will definitely fetch you good returns.

Another quote that I had read in one of the articles,
You can assign tasks, but you can't force people to be accountable.
Accountability is an act of will..!

And hence I feel team dynamism plays a very important role here as, work environment and team dynamics directly affects the productivity and willingness to work towards achieving the common goal.
and these two things are achieved, accountability is again a byproduct.

So a plinth needs to be strong and then the rest is managed in auto pilot mode.

जो बीत गई सो बात गई

One of my colleagues had introduced me to this poem by Dr.Harivansh Rai Bachchan.

Jo Beet Gayi so baat gayi? Itna aasan hota hai life me accept karna toh kya baat thi.. But the way he has explained this clarity taking different examples from nature is just amazing.

Anyway cribbing over something which is done, doesn't help.
so why not leave it when we realise that it is done. If at all sharing this 'kavita' helps you accept this fact even by 1% I think my job is done!

#Amazon Why #alexa ?

So...

One evening after our gym session, when the jamming session started we were discussing how virtual assistants like #okgoogle #siri and #alexa has been designed...
we girls, were amazed at how these virtual assistants follow and do things as you instruct them to..

You must be thinking, The title sounds little dramatically or grammatically wrong ..is it..?
But it is a question which everyone probably should ask #Amazon
Why alexa and not #peter or why atleast not give an option where I decide my own name for my #alexa 'the virtual assistant'
It could be anything I want..

Someone who decided this name, I wonder his(assuming it is him) thought process.. That I will have a virtual assistant who will be able to assist me in every way possible.
Great product idea!
I belong to marketing and sales and hence I know the importance of a product innovation, done to make life easier and convenient ..

The only question I had..why a female name?

'Sexism' is a heavy word though.. however ..if you look at the definition of sexism, It is prejudice or discrimination based on a person's sex or gender.
Sexism can affect anyone, but it primarily affects women and girls.
It has been linked to stereotypes and gender roles and may include the belief that one sex or gender is intrinsically superior to another.

I don't say so,
-Journal orpersonalily and social Psychology1995, Vol. 68, No. 2, 199-214Copyright 1995 by the American Psychological Association, Inc.0022-3514/95/S3.00 does.

In social philosophy, objectification is the act of treating a person as an object or thing. According to the philosopher Martha Nussbaum, a person might be objectified if one or more of the following properties are applied to them:

Instrumentality – treating the object as a tool for another's purposes: "The objectifier treats the object as a tool of his or her purposes."

Denial of Autonomy – treating the object as lacking in autonomy or self-determination: "The objectifier treats the object as lacking in autonomy and self-determination."

Inertness – treating the object as lacking in agency or activity: "The objectifier treats the object as lacking in agency, and perhaps also in activity."

Violability – treating the object as lacking in boundary integrity and violable: "The objectifier treats the object as lacking in boundary integrity, as something that it is permissible to break up, smash, break into."

Ownership – treating the object as if it can be owned, bought, or sold: "The objectifier treats the object as something that is owned by another, can be bought or sold, etc."

Fungibility – treating the object as interchangeable with other objects: "The objectifier treats the object as interchangeable (a) with other objects of the same type, and/or (b) with objects of other types."

Denial of Subjectivity – treating the object as if there is no need for concern for its experiences or feelings: "The objectifier treats the object as something whose experience and feelings (if any) need not be taken into account."

and then an idea, why not have an object which will do everything for you!
And probably then the virtual assistant concept is thought of.
A great idea!

But the question still remains, why Alexa?
Would really like to know if someone has an answer!
